This painting started as an experiment. Little did I realize what a long experiment it would be!
On an ochre background, I started making small shapes in blue. Then I made the tree shapes in brown and green, water in blue and grass in dark green. Each shape was then filled in with an appropriate colour. Twice. I then repainted all the outlines.
By far, this is the longest, most painstaking work I have done. While I was outlining the last of the sky pieces, my daughter asked why there wasn’t a rubber ducky in there somewhere… so I put one in.
Will I ever do another painting in the same style? Perhaps the next time I lose my mind! 🙂
