Hamster in Alexandria offers member discounts on paints & will order materials as needed. Sylvain is stocking very good quality canvas & cradled boards, a broad supply of student-grade Pebeo paints & will order Golden, etc. Hamster (Papeterie Alexandria Stationery) stocks a variety of art supplies, including high-quality, Canadian-made canvasses by Gotrick. 

They are willing to order anything they don’t stock and offer a 10 % discount (on art supplies only) to Collectif members.  The more art supplies they sell, the more they will be able to keep in stock.  Shopping locally when possible is good for us all!

Group Shows

Members can participate, show–even sell–their work at our many Collective events, such as:

• WOW Windows on our World 2022 is a semi-regular exhibition in Main Street windows
• A Collectif-only show at Alexandria library in September
• June 2022 show at the Glengarry, Nor’Westers & Loyalist Museum .
• Nine-day exhibit in August 2022 at Glengarry Pioneer Museum
• The Write Thing, seasonal wine bar reading events (2023?)
• Cabaret, an annual arts night with live music, great chili, art supplies for anyone to use (2023?)

Just to name a few of our events. Of course Covid made things quieter but we’re bouncing back.

We also have regular member meetings with discussions &/or demonstrations on matters of artistic interest. Oh & good coffee with home-baking to help keep up your strength!
