Collectif Challenge: 4May2025, Morning / Matin

By Victoria Stevenson.  This is a non-fictional story.

6AM IN THE MORNING

Today I woke up at six
It gave me a quick fix
I did yoga at seven
It gave me 40 minutes of heaven
Eight was a quiet moment
Serene and without torment
I fed the cats at nine
At ten I fed the canine
Eleven I painted a scene
Of a lilac-filled field of dreams
My life does not feel boring
When I wake up at 6 AM in the morning.

By Susan Irving

I painted this watercolour from a photo I took on a visit to Key West.  It was indeed an early morning and this usually busy restaurant was not open yet.

The second small painting, Morning Dew,  is an 8 x 8″ mixed media on cradled board.

The photograph is Morning Light, coming through one of my east facing windows.

By Milo Smith Way back in 2020 during Covid, our photo club decided to drive down to the Long Sault Parkway in the  dark and photograph the sun rising over the St. Lawrence River.

Here it is, shot through a telephoto lens as it breaks the horizon. We had to cross yellow tape absolutely everywhere just to get a clear shot down by the river.

By Margaret Stewart Very cold January morning , going to Ottawa on county road 25. The barn has since fallen down. I sent the photo to the folks who own it and they had never seen a Sun Dog before [the rainbow segment near the barn, Ed.] The photo here  did not capture the one on the right.

Looking East , cold December 25, morning.

By Véronique Gerland Voici le matin lumineux de l’original. The sunny morning of the moose

By Claudette Vaillancourt Sharing my favourite Spanish morning photos.

By Lynne Ayers Some pieces for the Morning challenge. The watercolours are from about 15 years ago, before I got excited about acrylics.

By Lucie Karakashian I open my eyes and see a glorious morning from my bedroom window!

By Helly Vasianovych Helly is our most recent member and photography is one of her interests.

By Laura Peck

Le matin
De ma fenêtre, je vois
Ce que mangent les voisins,
Et j'aime ça.

Mornings are today’s window
revealing what’s going on in the show.
