Juried Show II, a recap

Our second juried show in two years: our second Wine & Cheese Vernissage in as many months. The crowds indicated this is NOT a bad thing.

They came to see ~50 works, submitted by 25 artists that made it through the jurying process. Our jurors were Tracy-Lynn Chisholm, a professional artist based in Cornwall and affiliated with The Cline House Gallery: and Cynthia Gatien of South Lancaster who has painted for close to 40 years.

The show hangs beautifully!

There was discussion, debate and occasional immediate consensus as the jurors each chose their favourite, and then agreed on a Best in Show.

Juror’s Choice I is Big Cat Sticker by Erica Taylor, an acrylic on panel work.

Juror’s Choice II is I’m Home by Annie Dumontier, mixed media on wood.

Best in Show went to Lynne Ayers for Day Tripper, acrylic on canvas. She was clearly surprised and delighted!

Here are the winning works:

Our sincere thanks to the many volunteers who took in and hung the show, prepped nibblies for the vernissage and dealt with all the unseen but necessary background work.

This magnificent show runs until Sunday, 30 June at the Glengarry Nor’Wester & Loyalist Museum, 19651 John Street, Williamstown.
