I have a fascination for old dilapidated barns and sheds etc. The more worn and full of missing boards the better. So much character and history in such basic buildings.

If possible I often walk inside them to get a feeling of what has passed, a few in this short video are already down and gone (the 2 photos).
I carry a briefcase with pen and watercolour supplies for on-site sketching if I see a good candidate and, at worst, get the camera out. Also the subjects lend themselves to all kinds of mediums and surfaces which I enjoy experimenting with. Enjoy this video, others may be posted focusing on special subject matter.

Really enjoyed your video of your collection of paintings and sketches of old barns! You are right that they do have a lot of character especially when they show their age. I have yet to paint a barn but it is on my list. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. Bob! It is good that you are preserving the memory of these old buildings that are slowly disappearing form the landscape.
