Covid Creativity: 16Jan2022

by Susan Latreille

I have been trying lately to take advantage of the healing powers of Mother Nature with daily walks, especially treks back into our woods which also offer excellent photo ops.

These two photos were taken on an early December walk, shot from me standing in one place, in the first looking south, and in the second looking north.

The sun was quite high in the sky and I find the play of light quite interesting. I did only very minor editing to both photos, a bit of cropping and a bit of light enhancement.

Start the new year right, Collectif members, show us your creativity! Send JPG images of work completed since March 2020 to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words per image describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling more than a year into the Covid experience & how/if creativity helps.

Give us informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt and try to include a suitable illustration of some sort. For all images please include size (height by width), title & media. Thank you!

  1. Susan:

Lovely images. Kind of hard to believe shot at 180 degree at the same time. The first image has the look of an early or late shot with the warm glowing trees. Keep enjoying the healing power.

  2. The play of light and shadow is beautiful in both of these photos. I am glad you are getting out in nature. You are correct. It is very healing and nurturing and this looks to be a lovely place for walks.

  3. Thank you all for the comments. Much appreciated. And Yes! those woods are a treat to walk in.
BTW, I must have mixed up my descriptions when sending the photos.
The first is looking north, hence all the light coming through from the left (west) side from a low winter sun.
In the second photo, looking south, the tree growth on the west side is denser letting in less light.
The photos were taken just one minute apart.
