BEES BUILD HONEYCOMBS …
using the same math that governs crystal formation.
Like skilled engineers, the bees utilize building blocks,
the most efficient use of wax to fit snugly together.
Each worker bee follows the same path,
transforming this Artistic Masterpiece.
Honeybees use their body parts
to measure the comb they’re making.
No matter if oval in a tree, or under a
group of plants, their combs will always
be hexagon.
It’s like stacking oranges: as they
connect they are making a structure
to expand or manage the hive shape.
Langstroth's design improved honey
producing and air flow in the hive.
He had a tough childhood and was fascinated with ants!
He studied them non-stop, drove his mom nuts.
And now we are very thankful for his learning all the
ways ants work. He discovered what housing
the honeybees would need.
Memory. The fact is honeybees
send vibrations through the wax they are producing
to make honeycomb and other work they do to keep
the hive healthy.
If you have real honey that’s not heated,
then the photo below is what you will see -
NATURES PUREST ART FORM!
Take the top off the honey jar,
clean & then add 1/2 tsp cold water
(if it’s too warm it won't work).
Then 1/2 tsp of honey, be it light or dark.
Then gently move it back and forth, and side to side,
and you will see the honey reforming back into
honeycomb shape.
Bees are so cool!
You are witnessing "NATURE'S PUREST ART FORM”!

Notes: In a Langstroth hive, the bees build honeycomb into frames which can be moved with ease.

Fascinating! Thank you, Margaret. I am going to experiment.
