Collectif Creativity: 27Oct2022

by Yvonne Callaway

Thanksgiving weekend I visited the Marlin Orchard Pottery Show in Cornwall, the return of an annual show after the interference of COVID. It was a revelation! The show is always interesting, with a good assortment of ceramicists. But this year the colours and forms were eye-popping.

And inspiring. Seeing the potters’ works move from comfortable to extraordinary –juxtaposing shapes and colours–set me on fire.

Following six months of painter’s block, odd shapes and colours came together for me in a small triptych on cradled panel. What crawled out of that dark time I call . . . Primordial Oohs.

Collectif members, share your impulses — no effort too small! Send JPG image(s) to cagac.ca@gmail.com with about 100 words per image describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, challenges, mindset, etc.

Share how/if creativity affects (controls?) your life. Please include size (height by width), title & media for each image.

Writers – we want to hear from you! Send poetry, lyrics, an excerpt. Try to include an image of some sort because that’s the media world we live in.

Everyone, share informative, inspiring Show & Tell demonstrating the creative mind.

  1. WOW!…What is happening?…The colours are amazing…vibrant, dark…angular shapes complimented by loose flowing yet, dark depths of colour…it’s amazing! A story must be behind such a masterpiece. I luv it!Sent from Samsung tablet
