Lynne Ayers at the Alexandria Library June 2022
Meet and Greet Saturday, June 4, 11 to noon
A collection of works depicting cities around the world, but don’t expect to find any familiar landmarks.
Vedute ideate is a term meaning scenes realistically conceived but whose elements are imaginary. The paintings in this collection are drawn from my imagination, impressions of the general urban experience, or impressions left with me of places I have visited. Some are abstract, some are more representational, some are photographs, some are collage, some are acrylic.
Canadian Artist Robert Genn said: ”Artist — omit imagination at your peril. The stuff in the picture may not exist. But if you get it right, the spirit of the stuff will exist in the picture.”
