Covid Creativity: 24Oct2021

by Olga Harhaj

I just completed this oil painting recently. It is from a picture that our local photographer Katt Hebb took a few years back of John and Willie that live in Lancaster on hwy 34. I asked her if I could paint it and she gave me her permission.

They are a local icon in South Lancaster especially at the Tim Horton’s where John often stops by for a coffee with his horse Willie and his dog Blue. I knew I had to do a painting as soon as I saw the picture. The lighting is perfect and who doesn’t love a cowboy on a horse crossing a river!

  1. Olga – this is my favourite of yours so far! So beautiful! I love that you left off the face – to me that makes it! And yes, who doesn’t love a cowboy crossing a river on a horse!?!
