As I’ve said before, I like working in a series, be it painting or photography and I’m a people watcher when out and about.
These are some images from my couples series – candids of strangers – strangers to me and I expect in most cases, strangers to each other. People who just happened to enter my frame at the same time.
All images have passed through my Sagelight app and been cropped for composition. I haven’t titled these photos, preferring to let the viewer compose their own story around the image.

Don’t be shy Collectif members, we want to see your work! Give us informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt and try to include a suitable illustration of some sort. For all images please include size (height by width), title & media. Thank you!
Loved the way you worked with the shadows and light, especially liked the 3rd photo…reminded me of the only good thing that came out of covid-19…peace and quiet in the streets…Very nicely done!Sent from Samsung tablet

Thanks, Sandra – as in painting, contrast makes images pop.

Nice images. I like the use of shadows and I particularly like the one of the two old men (one reading a newspaper) sitting in a ???room.

These are fascinating. I like them all but particularly the one of the man sitting on the steps – I love the sepia tones in that one. And also the last one – it has an Alex Colville feel about it.
I am curious Lynne, when you are shooting these subjects, is it just random, the luck of the draw, and then you pick & choose what to perfect in the editing room? Or do you set out with a purpose?

A bit of both, Susan. Sometimes I see the grouping and have to catch it; other times I’m going through my images and suddenly see an interesting interaction happening. And thank you for your comments. 🙂

I like your concept here Lynn.
They are all very good but my favourite images are the first 2 and the last one !

Thank you, Liz. What attracted me to the second one was the various lines and angles as I looked down on them from one level up in a train station.
