Covid Creativity: 9Aug2021

by Wendy Beswick

The Long Sault Parkway is such a scenic route and I take every opportunity I can to cruise it with an Ice Cap from Timmy’s to complete the experience. There is always a ton of wildlife along the banks of the St. Lawrence River so I keep an eye out for photo opportunities as I meander along.

I spotted this guy and felt lucky that he waited for me to grab a shot. I find Great Blue Herons can be shy and usually fly away when someone shows an interest in them.  Little did I know he was still as a statute because he was fishing!

I was able to catch the whole series of him diving for the fish as well as flying away. Such a great opportunity!

The first photo alone is just stunning, but then to see the story unfold – great captures!!
