by Janet Harris Timms
As some of you know, I have been traveling into Pointe Claire to help a friend, who is terminally ill with brain cancer, and her family, every 2 weeks, during Covid.
‘Cathy’ asked me if I could paint a Loon for her husband, so I set to the task with trepidation! What if it wasn’t what she expected? What if he didn’t like it??
I started on one canvas, decided I didn’t like how the Loon was positioned so started again on a different size, redid the water and reflection several times, spent forever trying to get all those black and white feathers just so.
All to say, they were both pleased with the results, fortunately! I still need practice on photographing paintings properly.

Janet:
Great painting of a Loon. I would not have thought that the green water would serve as a good colour for the background but your painting changed my mind. Well done.
