This is a clay sculpture. I use a a low-cure terracotta called Sculpey, cured at 275 deg, 15 minutes per ¼” in the household oven. Took me about four weeks to complete it.

I started by making the engine, then the frame, wheels, springer front end. Then the oil tank, fender, gas tank, seat and handle bars. 

Finally made the dude starting it. Bought a posable figure to scale and used it as a model “starting the bike” and then scaled the dude portion of sculpture based on that. As the clay was already cured for the motorcycle, I could not cure it again as it would become brittle. So I made frame of wood to hold the dude in the correct position for curing.

Each part was fired individually and then assembled.
