Covid Creativity: 6Mar2021

by Michel Latreille

I guess Covid has affected me in one way more than I had realized in that I seem to have (hopefully only temporarily) lost my carving mojo. Probably a very large part of this loss is because I no longer have the great social and interactive aspect of my weekly meetings with my two separate Glengarry Encore groups.

On Monday afternoons a group of like-minded carvers would meet to share our creative passion, offer support, and enjoy our craft. On Wednesday mornings I would teach carving to beginners as well as some very creative and aspiring woodcarvers. I guess I did not realize how much inspiration and drive I garnered from these two groups until they were missing from my life.

Hopefully, this is just a temporary setback; hopefully, we can soon rejoin our respective inspirational groups and all recover our lost mojos.

Collectif members, share what is going on your creative life, even if it feels like not much. We still tend to think of our art, even when not actively pursuing it. Send an image (or a few) to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what’s going on. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.
