Back to life, after many long months of inspiration drought. It has been, and remains, very difficult to produce without live feedback such as one gets from juried exhibitions or gallery shows. My incentive is lost in a studio void of critics, friends, and new acquaintances.
A photo or reproduction of work online cannot do justice to a painting. Apart from the substantial impact of a large canvas on the viewer’s experience, the texture, the depth, the lighting, the palette knife strokes–the sculptural effect of the work–are lost or highly diminished in an online reproduction.
But the power of adaptation is our greatest asset. So adapt I finally have or, maybe, partially. That said, here’s my contribution. Please enjoy the colours and composition.

The pandemic may have restricted my liberty and perspective, but never my colours!

Collectif members, send an image (or a few) of very recent work to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.
I am so happy to see that you are painting again, Jeanne. The works you have just posted are lovely and interesting. Hopefully this wretched pandemic will not go on much longer and we will all be able to get together and exhibit again.
