by Olga Harhaj
I completed this work in late January. I actually worked backwards as I was given a frame by a local resident, so I bought a canvas to fit the frame and then found a scene to suit the colour of the frame. Oh well, sometimes we need to be creative in other ways.
I wanted to paint a snow scene with the sun setting, so I picked a rural scene with birch trees and gave it some pop with a red birdhouse.

Collectif members, send an image (or a few) of very recent work to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.
What a beautiful painting, Olga! You captured everything so perfectly. I guess a frame can be as good a starting point as any, as you have proven.
