Covid-19 is boring. Too much time and not enough to do. I was making an image for the August show at Dunvegan and was planning to put in the image with the black background.

However, the printer jammed and caused a malfunction which needed professional help. The image I got with the damaged printer is similar to the the one with the white background (black print head not dispensing ink) so it went into the show as “Surreal Female”. I later made the image you see here by removing all the black from the digital image. Once in a while mistakes work out for the best.

Collectif members, send an image (or a few) of very recent work to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell. Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.
I have seen it with the white background, but it is much more stunning with the black for a background. Glad you worked it out.

I love it on the white background. It is more subtle and seems (to me) to reflect the struggle of women through the ages. I know that is, perhaps, not what you were aiming to portray, but that’s how it struck me. On the black background it takes on another meaning, but I prefer the white. Great work, Milo!

Thanks for you comment. I go back and forth between the two images. Once day white, the next black.

Hi Milo, I agree with you about covid being boring (or at least the discussion about it) but I have plenty to do. You’re right about mistakes sometimes working out for the best. Love your Venus de Milo figure. Brenda
