Covid creativity: 3Jun2020

By Wendy Beswick

The Covid-19 pandemic has given me time to do things on my bucket list that ‘normal’ life has denied me. Things like learning Photoshop so that I can expand what is possible with my photography.

Photography for me began as a way to record daily life but has now become a means to express myself creatively since I have not been blessed with traditional talent to paint, draw, or sculpt. I am looking forward to watch my vision grow as I learn Photoshop and other graphic programs.

This photo, by the way, is not a product of Photoshop, but an in-camera double exposure with a little bit of exposure adjustment to tone down the pink. The Gerbera Daisy that coats the horse reminds me of the Garland of Roses given to the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. So much fun to play around with the camera!

Collectif members, send an image of your very recent work to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell.

Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.

  1. Oh WOW! Way to go neighbour Wendy! That is an amazing photo, it really looks like a watercolour. Isn’t it a great feeling to start something and end up with it being far greater than you could have imagined. Good for you, Wendy! You now have a new talent! All the best with future photos….SandraSent from Samsung tablet
