Covid creativity: 18May2020

By Bud Thompson

These artworks are inspired by the two Davids, Uhl and Mann. My idols. Uhl is known for oil paintings of vintage Harley Davidson bikes. Mann (1940-2004) was known as “the biker world’s artist-in-residence.”

My BIG bike trip in June along Route 66 from Chicago to LA has been cancelled by this virus. Hope I can cross this trip off my bucket list before I can’t ride any more.

Since I can’t travel, I paint.

Dragon, acrylic on cradle board
Need Gas? watercolour on paper

Collectif members, send an image of your very recent work to cagac.ca@gmail.com with up to 100 words describing what you did, materials used, inspiration, etc. Maybe share how you’re feeling & how creativity helps. We’d like an informative, inspiring show & tell.

Writers, send us poetry, lyrics, a short piece or excerpt.

  1. It boggles the mind when something as simple as a slim piece of wood, with hairs attached at one end, when dipped into colourful paints and slightly manipulated by talented fingers, images of reality spring to life. How I admire this artist’s amazing talent!…SandraSent from Samsung tablet

  2. I can feel the movement in Dragon – honestly when I first saw that painting I thought it was a photo. Amazing! And is that Tina filling your gas tank??? Hmmmm???
