The winner of People’s Choice for 2018 is Life is Worth Living
by Tina Whitman, acrylic on canvas. Based on a family photo taken in Cuba, Tina captured the colourful personalities of these two stogie-smoking women.
Fall Splendour in the Woods by John Fairchild (acrylic on board) was chosen by the Township of North Glengarry to commemorate WOW 2018. John says the painting represents memories of two wooded pathways from his youth. Michel Depratto, Councillor for Alexandria, accepted the gift on behalf of the Township.
Both works were unveiled at the closing ceremonies held at Sandfield Centre on Saturday, 13 October.
Congratulations to Tina Whitman and John Fairchild. They are both great paintings.
We missed the event because we have been waiting all day for a delivery from Home Hardware, expected in the morning but did not arrive until after 4 o’clock!
